Java software engineer (junior developer)

The course is designed for those who want to start a career as a Java developer from scratch. The program is focused on real tools and approaches used in modern IT companies.

During the course, you will:
- learn backend development with Java and Spring Boot from the ground up;
- design and implement REST APIs;
- gain hands-on experience with SQL, Hibernate, and JPA;
- understand client-server architecture and HTTP principles;
- write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito;
- complete 4 practical projects for skill development and your portfolio;
- gain experience working in a team using Agile principles throughout the course.

The course is built around backend application development with Spring Boot. You will gradually learn client-server architecture, REST API design, request and response handling, and backend interaction with external clients. The program also covers working with databases: SQL, entity relationships, and the ORM approach using Hibernate and JPA, as well as database migrations using Flyway.

Practice is a key part of the course. During the program, you will work on four practical projects covering Java Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, databases, testing, and CI pipelines (GitHub Actions). A dedicated block focuses on code quality and testing, where you will learn how to write unit and integration tests, test REST controllers, and verify database interactions. The course also introduces containerization with Docker.

The course is delivered online twice a week and includes theory, hands-on practice, and detailed feedback from the instructor. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate.

Entry requirements: Basic computer skills and access to a modern computer. No prior programming experience is required.
