This course trains a system (business) analyst from scratch — an IT profession where you do not write code. We start with the analyst's role in a development team (Agile/Scrum) and build up to turning a business goal into clear requirements for a system.

You will master the analyst's full working cycle with concrete tools: requirements elicitation (interviews, workshops), business-process modelling in BPMN notation (AS-IS / TO-BE), UML diagrams (use case, activity, sequence), writing user stories with acceptance criteria and full specifications, and requirements management (traceability, prioritisation, change). Separate modules cover working with data (the relational model, ER diagrams, basic SQL: SELECT, JOIN), describing REST integrations (JSON, Swagger/OpenAPI, verifying requests in Postman), keeping artefacts in Jira and Confluence, and applying AI tools (LLMs) in the analyst's daily work.

The course is built around an end-to-end portfolio project: from a stakeholder interview to a finished specification — a real artefact you can show at interviews.

On completion you will be able to elicit requirements, model processes and systems, write user stories and specifications, read a data model and run SQL queries, describe API integrations and defend your own project. No programming experience is required; a confident PC user with English sufficient to read documentation is enough.

An advantage of the course is that it runs fully in a classroom (on-site) format in Tallinn; real-time online participation is available when needed.
